Oversee the continuing growth of assigned division; to achieve company goals in both billing, recruitment and retention; to create marketing solutions for small and large businesses in the Tri–State area; to be a team leader and generate a team atmosphere while providing opportunity for growth; to help our community, clients, and Murphy Broadcasting to grow in a positive manner.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
The individual needs to be self-motivated, a quick starter and able to think quickly and absorb new ideas; must be a never ending student of the craft; must be a problem solver with clients and among fellow employees; must have excellent planning and reporting skills along with top level written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing company.
Minimum Qualifications:
From the President of the Company:
If you are the person I am looking for, you already know it and there is no question in your mind. This is a very aggressive company that gives a great deal of freedom to people who accomplish the goals at hand.
A Director of Sales has a primary duty of assembling a team and assembling a “bench” (a group of people who are ready to start with a phone call and two weeks notice). The DOS will have superior interpersonal skills and feel comfortable reporting everything going on in their department to the company president. This is not the kind of place for “private” people.
The job is Monday-ish through Friday-ish. The work day starts well before the staff comes to work and ends when the work is finished, not just when the clock hits 5PM. The DOS will attend remote broadcasts, company functions and business functions no matter the day or time.
The DOS must be a consummate trainer. You need to be able to understand the business and pass that knowledge on. You will need to handle your staff within the law and within company policy, always with your mind on making goal.
THIS IS NOT AN OFFICE JOB. If you’re looking for a comfy chair, this is the wrong place. I expect a DOS to be on sales calls with their staff nearly all the time. You do not sell against them, and you will be judged based upon THEIR success, as well as recruitment and retention as mentioned earlier.
So…. Is this you? If so apply!
